Le rêve d’un homme ridicule

Last night I went to the S:t Gervais Thêátre for the monologue Le rêve d’un homme ridicule. It is a pience adapted from the writings of Dostoïvski. It was a test to see whether my French would be up to it, if I could follow a whole play. The first half an hour went fine, then I started to lose the plot and with that also the French…

Carlo Brandt

It must be difficult to perform a monologue for 1 1/2 hours, and still keep the audience’s attention.

I think Carlo Brandt did a good job, though. I didn’t really get the allegory with the figures he put up on the stage (see the photo), will ask someone for an explanation.
